Colourpop 'foxy' ultra matte lip review

Hi all!,

This week I am writing about my recent purchase of the Colourpop foxy collection of 5 stunning mini ultra matte liquid lipsticks.
First up as always a bit about the brand!
ColourPop was born, raised and made with love in the City of Angels. Founded in 2014 by Seed Beauty, they pride themselves on being wallet friendly and bunny approved.
Colourpop's products are tested in the nicest way possible, leaving fur babies to be fur babies and experimenting on people instead (the people at ColourPop HQ to be exact!).

Beeper- warm mid-tone taupe
Clueless- dusty mauve pink
Tulle- dusty mauve burgundy
Creeper- true classic blue red
More Better- deep violet wine
If you would love to check out the colourpop website click here. They have amazing swatches of this collection on different skin tones, they are all so flattering!

Application tips
Make sure your lips are bare, dry, and exfoliated for the smoothest finish. Apply a matching lip pencil for a precise and perfected application. Next, apply Ultra Matte Lip with the applicator or your favorite lip brush. It's suggested to store these babies upright and shake before application!
This thin and lightweight formula glides onto the lips leaving SUPER intense colour with a bold, ultra matte finish. It's very long wearing and completely kiss proof!
So these are they first lip products/any products I have purchased from Colourpop. I have very much enjoyed them so far but for sure have to be in the right mood. I find that if my lips are even a tad dry that I cannot handle having these on, but that goes for any matte lip product.

These I purchased without any lip liners (I have since purchased matching lip liners) and I can apply them reasonably ok without lip liner's but it is difficult and is not overly neat, it would be better with lip liners!. Since purchasing a few liners I have not actually applied these again ( But I will). To be honest everyone, I have purchased so so many lip products lately that I am struggling to go through them all on rotation to try....that sounds just awful! Do you have that problem to??!?
They do dry to a complete matte and are transfer proof, they will last all day through food and drink if you want them to . I personally cannot wear matte lipsticks for a 8 hour work day because I am talking so so much in my job it just starts to get uncomfortable for me.
I love the intense pigment of the colour of these and cannot wait to try out the rest of the range of satin lips, glossy lips, and more matte lips plus all of the liners that I have recently purchased.
Have you got this collection or other colourpop products? Let me know down below if you have or anything else you might suggest! I would so love to hear from you and get some response of your thoughts, also like this post if you would love to see more Colourpop!

Australis velourlips minis review

Hello all,

This week I wanted to do a review on the Australis Velourlips. I have this collection of mini's to review today!

Australis is a great brand! Upon finding them in my city I have adored there range and cannot wait to try more products. I am very keen on trying there foundations as I have seen a lot of reviews stating that they are great for sensitive skin and they do have products for matte purposes. Australis does not test on animals and is also Vegan friendly and have no palm oils in there products. I really like this brand not only for its products but for how they are so open and proud of what there brand stands for. Best of all this wonderful brand ships worldwide and is not expensive at all!

There are 24 colours in the Velourlips range which is heaps to chose from, I think everyone would be able to find a number of shades for there own preference.

I have the following colours:

Hon-o-loo-loo - A baby pink
Ho-chee-min - A neon barbie pink
Mil-a-no - A peach orange
Los-angel-es - A light lilac
Lun-dun - A pink with a purple undertone

What are these? These lip creams are a great concept. They go on as a cream then dry to a matte finish. They are designed for long wear and have a great colour payoff. They apply with a doe foot applicator. These are great if you are wanting an all day look that wont budge and doesn't need a lot of top off and doesn't flake, or cake!

My first impression : The colour is amazing, compared to other products of a similar nature that I have these have a lot of pigment to them. For me these dried out my lips extremely painfully. I was not dehydrated nor did I have sore lips at all so I didn't expect to have any issue with anything matte but these were possibly the most drying lip product I have ever used. The colour looked great on the lips and really pop from far away but I did notice it amplified every single line on my lip, which didn't look that good to me.

A couple of the colours are to intense for me right now but I know I will use them in time.

Scent: These smell like sour lollies, it makes my mouth water!

Although the first few times I have used these they were extremely drying. I have yet to return to these and put chap stick under them for more comfort. At this stage I have other lip products that are not as drying so reaching for these have not been on my to do list.

Would I recommend? Yes! While I found these drying on a couple of different occasions it does not sway my vote of these as a great product. I have heard so many good things about them and I am keen to give them another go.

If you would like to visit the Australis website for all of there awesome products click here.

Do you have a favorite product from this brand?

That is all for now!

L.A girl matte flat velvet lipstick review & swatches!

Hi all,

I am here today to have a little talk about the new L.A girl matte lipsticks. Something I really love about these lipsticks is that they are cruelty free, I didn't know this until I really looked into the L.A girl brand. Its a fantastic thing to really have on a brand!

There are 26 shades in this collection. Below is a swatch of the range I found online (sorry if its a bit blurry!)

Below are the two colours I purchased. I am starting with just two at this stage and plan to eventually purchase a few more as I go and build up my collection , of course I will branch out to there other lip products soon enough also!

Although these two shades below look very similar on there outer lipstick case they really do swatch completely differently. I find that if my lips are already a little bit dry these do dry it out to the point of being uncomfortable which is a bit annoying but its fine as I normally wear a good Chapstick when I don't have any lipstick on. Other than that for something of this cost there really isn't any down side, there is not much to lose when it comes to this brand. You will find at least one or more shades in this stunning collection of 26 so why not?!? I have found ALOT of places in New Zealand but also worldwide stock this brand so it seems very accessible .

I had heard of the L.A brand previously and to be honest had never looked into it as much as I really should of . Upon going into my local discount/outlet make up store I noticed there display because it had a super gorgeous eye shadow pallet which had the exact shades I was after (more to come on that one!) . I was scanning around and noticed a serious lack of lip products, to me this was so odd as they had foundation in liquid and powder plus numerous other goodies. So I went back home and found out about the matte lipstick products, this brand makes, which as to that day lipstick products are my new thing, whoop whoop!

The product description on the website is:

Introducing our hottest new lip color -Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick.

These 26 bold shades are rich in pigment and filled with moisture in a flat velvet finish. With added shea butter to hydrate lips and a soft, smooth application, your lips will feel as gorgeous as they look!

I find this to be pretty true! I am at the moment not finding these lipsticks as hydrating as I would like but it is winter here!

Today I tried the Matte lipstick shade Snuggle. It is beautiful!
I had my reservations towards trying this brand as its a new brand to me so I wasn't sure what it was like quality wise. The price is great , I spent $9.52 NZ on each lipsticks from the discount store here in NZ , let me know if you would like the link if you are in New Zealand!

It was also a new type of shade for me. Its a browny/nude/pink type colour which I have only ever stayed in the pink sort of range that is fairly close to my own lip shade.

I loved this so so much. I put it on at 7.30 am and found it was harder to use on my cupids bow as it doesnt have as sharp of an angle that im used to so far. Eventually and slowly I got there putting this on my lips without a lip liner. As it was the first time using this I wanted to not use lip liner to see how it lasts and if there are any issues I need to be aware of. I probably shouldnt have picked a work day for that haha!

It turned out well my friends. The texture is lovely and smooth but I found it wasnt to creamy, I would say that this is because the formula is designed to be a matte lipstick rather than a standard lipstick. I have previously found other brands lipsticks that are matte to be creamy also.

I had not read any reviews when it came to how long this would last and if it had good staying power so I was quite unsure what to expect, sometimes I think that that is actually the best way to use a product.

The second lip colour I purchased was the shade Hush, I wear this one more compared to Snuggle which I thought would be the other way around for me based on online swatches but OMG I love love love this colour alot. It is up there with one of my go to colours and I have been carrying it around in my hand bag. I found that this was just as easy to apply once getting used to the lipstick shape .Also both of the lipsticks have this sultry type of vanilla/hazelnut scent, I have never come accross this scent before but oh my its yummy

Snuggle

Hush

The top shade is Hush and the bottom is snuggle
